In a story that proves truth is stranger than fiction, the Dhodh police in Sikar have busted a honey trap gang that pulled off a brazen scam. The mastermind, Renuka Choudhary, and her accomplice, Subita, targeted a 64-year-old man, Ramkaran, in an elaborate social media con.
The scheme started on Facebook, where the women built a friendly rapport with Ramkaran through chats and video calls. To deepen the trust, they then connected with him using the Instagram profile of Subita’s daughter.

The plot culminated in a meeting at the elderly man's farmhouse. But instead of a friendly visit, Renuka arrived with others and threatened to frame him in a false case. Under this pressure, they snatched his gold chain, ring, and ₹25,000 cash. They then forced him to transfer a massive ₹12.90 lakhs into Renuka’s bank account.
After a case was filed, the duo went on the run, but their freedom was short-lived. The police tracked them down and arrested them from the Dhodh Chowrah area. Renuka's account was frozen, and both women were sent to jail.
This shocking case is a stark reminder to be extremely cautious of strangers online, especially those who quickly push for personal meetings or talk about money.
