Hello and welcome to SociallyShout. It was released on 18th June 1999. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Today is the 22nd anniversary of this film. This is a film where Salman Khan was at his very best. Aishwarya Rai was at her very best. Ajay Devgan was at his very best.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali was at his very best. Vikram Gokhale was at his very best. zohra sehgal was at her very best. Ismail Darbar was at his very best. A film that I absolutely enjoyed watching. In fact, let me first of all begin with the Salman-Aishwarya chemistry. What chemistry is this? The chemistry was on fire. Both of them looking so good on screen. Their acting was spot on. Their chemistry, their magic was on fire on screen. Expressions, acting, everything.
The emotions that flowed, the love, the romance that flowed. Perfect. After that, when Ajay Devgan enters the frame, initially you... You know the way Sanjay had directed the screenplay. Initially, you would love Salman. You root for Salman's character.
You root for Salman Aishwarya's love story. And when Ajay Devgan enters, you hate Ajay Devgan. Because he's like the bone in the kebab. He's the bone. Where did he come from? Why did he turn into a villain? I don't want that. Salman Aishwarya's love story is going well. Let it have a happy ending. You start hating Ajay Devgan. And then later on, as the film progresses in the second half, you start loving Ajay Devgan. You root for Ajay Devgan's character. And finally, at the end of the film, it is Ajay's character that you root for. And even though you feel bad for Salman, you're happy for Ajay Devgan. And that is how the film ended. And you are really, really happy about the way... You know, about the way the things unfolded towards the end.
So in the beginning, your love for Salman. In the middle, a bit of hatred for Ajay. But in the end, a lot of love for Ajay. Superb screenplay and acting. This was the era when Salman Khan used to act. If you want to see Salman Khan's acting, then watch it in our hearts. Salman wasn't a brother at that time.
There was no brother image. There was only an actor image for Salman Khan. The man, the star, the superstar. What acting! What emotions! What romance! What expressions! What heartbreak! Brilliant! Aishwarya Rai, absolutely beautiful. So beautiful and so brilliant acting.
Superb! But Ajay Devgan, I think, steals the thunder. He comes in the second half, but he takes him away. He takes him away with his brilliant, brilliant acting. A bit subdued to begin with, but... That emotion and the way he fights against all odds to make sure his wife is happy. Brilliant, brilliant stuff. And brilliant direction. And the music of Ismail Darbar. What music! When KK songs, it touches the heart. So many songs.
There is this one Shankar Mahadevan song as well. I think Manmohani or something. Brilliant! I had seen it a long time ago. I had seen it a couple of times on TV. A long, long time ago. But I still remember every single scene.
The way Aishwarya reacts to Salman's expressions. Oh my! 4.5 out of 5. That is my rating. If you guys revisit, we have given our hearts. I don't know how you liked this film. That is all I have to tell you for the moment. Ta-ta!
